Finding the right gig

The hunt for the best side gig. If you're like me, the rise of the gig economy has been both fascinating and a necessity. Whether anyone wants to admit it or not, gig work is virtually a must these days. Some may argue that wages just need to increase, while others view this as an opportunity to achieve their goals faster. Regardless, gig jobs are here to stay. I've tried my hand at a few, and I figured my findings could be of benefit to others as well. I've tried Food Delivery, mobile apps, microtasks, and even AI content rating. I'm always on the lookout for creating additional revenue streams and will be posting my findings on those as well. I'm currently starting a Shopify Dropshipping site as well as this website. What's this all for? Like many people, Covid brought change to my world. I kept my job throughout the pandemic and even got to work from home. My wife wasn't so lucky. She kept her job but lost her hours for a few months. We started doing food delivery as a way to help replace her income. We also saw it as a way to help others who didn't feel safe being out and about. I was hooked for a while but quickly realized that the demand for this service was unsustainable. Between my wife and I, we brought in a few $1,000+ weeks putting in around a collective 30 hours per week. However, as the demand slowed down so did the hourly average. More hours had to be worked to make up the difference in income we were missing. The additional wear and tear on our vehicles started to eat away at our profits and soon we decided enough was enough. Doordash during this time also decreased its base payout for trips from $6 to $3 and quickly lost its ROI. Grubhub and Uber Eats were good for a while, but the demand in my area dried up as the number of drivers increased. This left me intrigued by side gigs but scratching my head about where to start.
